Tour Description

You will begin in the capital city of old Saigon where you’ll have an opportunity to explore the war tunnels of Cu Chi, drift down the mighty Mekong River, and immerse yourself in the vibrant heart of the south. Your last stop will be to the pristine beaches of Phu Quoc Island, with white sands and perfect waters there’s no better end to an incredible holiday.

Itinerary

When you arrive at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport you’ll be met at the baggage claim by our friendly guide.
Just look for the sign with our Up Travel logo and your name. We’ll get you to your hotel and see that you’re comfortable, plus we’ll give you an introduction to the city at the same time.

Then the rest of the day is yours to settle in, relax, and explore the area.

Ho Chi Minh is a city that never sleeps and offers a plethora of great restaurants and bars catering to all tastes, from street food vendors to the rooftop bar at the Rex Hotel, where international correspondents covered the Vietnam War and where the U.S. military attaché’s press briefing was held daily and dubbed the “Five O’clock Follies”. Whatever your interests, be sure to ask your guide for personal recommendations.

Breakfast at your hotel, transfer for visiting Cu Chi Tunnels. After lunch in Cu Chi, the driver back to Ho Chi Minh City. This afternoon, depending on your preference, visit either the War Remnants Museum or History Museum, and the former Presidential Palace.

Finish the day with a stroll around the city’s colonial architecture, including the Old Saigon Post Office, Dong Khoi Street (formerly Rue Catinat), Continental Hotel, Opera House and City Hall.

Breakfast at your hotel. Then we’ll take you to the airport for a flight to Phu Quoc island. Arrive in Phu Quoc island, pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. The afternoon is yours to relax on the famously beautiful island beach. Phu Quoc has a lot to offer.

In addition to featuring its spectacular beach, this charming island is home to local villages whose way of life has remained unchanged over the span of generations. Excursions by jeep through the island’s interior reveal small neighborhoods where the famed Phu Quoc fish sauce is made, sprawling pepper plantations and dozens of tiny fishing hamlets.

We’ll pick you up after breakfast at your hotel and take you to cruise the twelve stunning southern islands off the coast of Phu Quoc. You’ll get to do some snorkeling and fishing at the three most beautiful spots on the islands and simply enjoy the pristine beaches and underwater coral reef kingdom.

On board the ship we’ll serve you a fresh fruit platter while you lounge in the tropical sun and take in the gorgeous view. Before we head back to the dock on Phu Quoc we’ll take you to Bai Sao Beach, a hidden treasure, a perfect beach with white sands and turquoise waves– it’s the beach you’ll be day-dreaming of for years to come!

You’ll have a full day to spend however you’d like. Relax in the sun, go for a swim, or for the more adventurous.

You’ll have breakfast at the hotel and some morning free time, then we’ll come to pick you up and take you to the airport for a flight back to Ho Chi Minh City.

When you arrive in HCMC we’ll collect you and transfer you to your hotel, then you have the day to spend as you’d like.

From Ho Chi Minh we’ll take a short drive through lush green rice fields into the Mekong Delta 09:00 am: Pick you up at Ham Luong dock, you will take a boat and then cruise along Ham Luong River, a tributary to the Mekong River. The cool breeze from the river and lush tropical islands along its banks will immediately get you excited to explore all the great things ahead.

Arrive and visit various local workplaces to find many wonderful examples of how local people use ageless techniques to create their crafts, including activated charcoal, dried coconut, handy coconut husk brooms, and many family businesses using coir, or coconut fiber, to create amazing art. Cruise around the village roads by “Xe Lôi”, the local vehicle, which is a kind of motorized rickshaw. Have lunch at the local host house.

After lunch, you will have some time for relaxing and then Kayak through the natural canals to get a unique experience of the peaceful beauty of the Mekong River as well as the rural life there. At the end of the day, return to Ham Luong Dock at 17:00. We’ll stop to visit. Then transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City.

You have free time in the morning until your private car arrives to take you to the airport for your next destination. This is the end of your Glimpse of Southern Vietnam.
